Gold Malware Treatment Award for avast! Professional Edition avast award

avast! antivirus Professional Edition has received the Gold Malware Treatment Award from the Russian portal Anti-Malware.ru for its ability to detect and remove virus and other malware infections, without causing any damage to the host computer's operating system. In an October 2008 survey of 15 leading antivirus providers, avast! ranked 2nd and was one of only two providers able to remove both of the tested rootkit infections.

Virus Bulletin 100 award - August 2008August, 2008 - this month's Virus Bulletin tests focused on Windows XP Service Pack 3. Once again, avast! 4 Professional Edition detected all In-The-Wild viruses (i.e. viruses known to be spreading between users), as well as over 97% of Trojans with no false positives as a result of which we have added yet another VB100 award to our tally!
