| What is avast! Endpoint Protection? |
The avast! Endpoint Protection has been specifically designed to provide antivirus protection for computer networks to keep them free of viruses and other malware risks. It comes in following editions:
For each specific edition you can choose from two types of central administration with remote management capability, which allows you to discover new and unsecured machines on the company network, deploy and manage avast! Endpoint Protection clients (managed clients) and incremental updates on all your computers and/or servers to keep your network free of viruses and other malware, schedule scan jobs, receive real-time security alerts, reports and automatic notifications about the activity on your network. For simple and small networks up to 200 computers and/or servers is recommended to use avast! Small Office Administration, for complex computers and/or servers networks of any size use avast! Enterprise Administration.

avast! Enterprise Administration is a desktop console with remote management capability and dedicated server, which enables discovery of new and unsecured machines on the company network, unattended remote deployment and mangement of avast! Endpoint Protection clients (managed clients) and incremental updates on networked computers and/or servers, even in multiple domains, to keep them free of viruses and other malware, schedule on-demand scannig tasks, generate wide range of graphical and tabular reports, receive real-time customizable alerts automatic notifications about the activity on the company network. avast! Enterprise Administration is suitable for complex computers and/or servers networks of any size, and so it has hierarchical grouping of avast! Endpoint Protection clients (managed clients) in a tree structure, which can be based on, for example, the geographical or organizational structure of the network, and makes possible to assign appropriate administration access rights and policies separately for each group.

| What is avast! Mirror? |
The Mirror is installed automatically during the installation of avast! Small Office Administration or avast! Enterprise Administration. It automatically receives updates from the AVAST update server and distributes them to all the avast! Endpoint Protection clients (managed clients) on your network to ensure they are always completely up to date.
The great advantage of using the Mirror to distribute updates in this way is that the updates need to be downloaded only once from the AVAST update server, thus saving you valuable bandwidth.
Although the Mirror is updated automatically, you can also update it manually to make sure that you have the very latest copy of the update server at any given moment.

Endpoint Protectionn is not supported (is not compatible, cannot be installed and won't run) on DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.x, Microsoft Windows NT 3.x, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows ME, Microsoft Windows 2000, or any other operating systems which aren't specified as supported.

For each specific edition of avast! Endpoint Protection you can choose between two types of central administration, i.e. avast! Small Office Administration for deployment on small and simple computer networks, and avast! Enterprise Administration for deployment on complex networks of any size, or if necessary, you can download only standalone unmanaged client for individual installation, which can be connected to the central administration later.
