Avast 2016: Resetting Software Updater

The Software Updater in Avast 2016 monitors version status of 3rd party applications which are essential for computer security, and assists you to keep them up-to-date. If the Software Updater doesn't work as expected, for example if any application update goes wrong, or invalid application status/version is shown, you can try to reset the internal database of the Software Updater to the default values.

You can reset the internal database of the Software Updater by following these steps:

  2. From the main menu, select Scan and then select Scan for outdated software.
  3. In the bottom of the Software Updater window, select Software Updater Settings.
  4. At the bottom of the Software Updater Settings window expand the Database reset (troubleshooting) section, click the button Reset database now, ...and click Yes to confirm.
  5. Click OK once the Software Updater database reset is completed successfully.
