How to adjust Avast GrimeFighter activity and notifications in Avast Antivirus 2015

When Avast GrimeFighter within Avast Antivirus 2015 finds some issues which affect your system's performance, it notifies you with a popup message. If you want to change the way it checks your system and how often it notifies you about grime, you can easily change the settings.

  1. Open your Avast Antivirus user interface and go to Scan → Scan for performance issues.
  2. A report of all the issues GrimeFighter has identified appears. Click the Settings option.
  3. Go to the General tab to: enable/disable GrimeFighter activity and notifications; adjust sensitivity of notifications; or adjust frequency of notifications.

    Go to the Scheduling tab to schedule an Avast GrimeFighter scan for later.
  4. Click OK to save your settings.

Please follow the detailed steps below to change activity and notification settings for Avast GrimeFighter.

    • GrimeFighter activity - Should Avast GrimeFighter test your computer for grime automatically? Uncheck this option if you prefer not to receive notifications.
    • Performance warning - How many issues Avast GrimeFighter detects before it displays warnings.
    • Messaging timing limitations - How often Avast GrimeFighter displays notifications.
    Go to the Scheduling tab to schedule an Avast GrimeFighter scan for later.

  4. Click OK to save your settings.
