Installing an unsigned profile on iOS 8
When you install Avast SecureLine version 3.0 or later on iOS 8, you are prompted to install an unsigned profile from SecureLine, unlike on iOS 7.
Installing a profile created by Avast SecureLine is safe, and the application is in fact already signed by the App Store.
iOS 8 introduced a new feature which gives an application the capability to create VPN configuration profiles and manage VPN connections. We added this feature to SecureLine version 3.0, and as a result, the following screen appears when you install SecureLine on an iOS 8 device:
iOS versions before iOS 8 do not offer the feature to enable SecureLine to create VPN configuration profiles. VPN configuration profiles used on previous versions are downloaded to your device from the Avast servers where they are created.
To confirm that a profile is trusted, a signed certificate from Avast is embedded in the profile along with the VPN settings.
