Connect to a Network

You can only connect to Wi-Fi networks that are part of the Wi-Fi Finder database from your device settings. If Wi-Fi Finder already knows the password, you can connect without providing a password.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings on your iOS device.
  2. Tap the Wi-Fi option to open a list of the Wi-Fi networks that are within range.
Wi-Fi networks that are part of the Wi-Fi Finder database are labelled with the sub-text Avast Wi-Fi Finder.
  3. Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to connect to, and:
    • If Wi-Fi Finder already knows the password, you are connected to the Wi-Fi network automatically without needing to provide the password.
    • If Wi-Fi Finder does not know the password, you are prompted to type the password before you are connected to the Wi-Fi network.

Use Offline Mode

Download Wi-Fi network packs for a selection of countries for offline access. You can find Wi-Fi networks from your downloaded packs in the Available Wi-Fi or Map sections when you are not connected to the internet.

To download a Wi-Fi network pack, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Avast Wi-Fi Finder icon on your device to open the app.
  2. Tap the Offline Mode icon to open a list of available Wi-Fi network packs.
  3. Tap the name of a Wi-Fi network pack that you want to download to see the number of Wi-Fi networks in the pack, and the amount of data the network pack will occupy on your device if you download it.
  4. Tap Download to download the Wi-Fi network pack.

When the download is complete, the downloaded network pack appears at the top of your list of Offline Mode network packs under the sub-heading Downloaded.

After you have downloaded a Wi-Fi network pack, you can access the Wi-Fi networks included in the pack from the Available Wi-Fi or Map sections of the app even while you are not connected to the internet.
