How to export passwords to Google Chrome

This article describes how to export passwords stored in the Avast Passwords vault to the Google Chrome browser.

  1. Open the Avast user interface and go to Settings → Passwords. If prompted, type your Master Password.
  2. Scroll down to the Export passwords section and click Export next to Do you want to export your passwords to Google Chrome?.
  3. Select a location for the file and provide a name, then click Save.
  4. Open your Google Chrome browser and type chrome://flags in the address bar.
  5. Click the drop-down menu in the Password import and export section and select Enabled. Then click Relaunch now to confirm changes.
  6. Once relaunched, click the menu icon in the upper-right corner of your browser and select Settings.
  7. Scroll down and click Show advanced settings....
  8. In the Passwords and forms section, click Manage passwords.
  9. Click Import.
  10. Find and select the previously saved import file and click Open to import your passwords to Google Chrome.
