How to upgrade to Avast Pro Antivirus from an older version

If you are running an older version of Avast Pro Antivirus and the subscription is still valid, you can upgrade Avast Pro Antivirus to the latest version.

Before you begin ensure that you are logged into Windows with administrator permissions and all other programs are closed.

  1. Right-click the Avast icon in the system tray. In the context menu, scroll over Update and then select Program.
  2. Click Restart now to reboot your PC immediately.
  3. When the PC restarts an information screen appears about the new version. Close this screen to complete the upgrade process.

Avast Pro Antivirus is then updated to the latest version. Your protection is valid for the remaining period of your subscription.

  1. Right-click on the Avast icon in the system tray. In the context menu, scroll over Update and then select Program.
  2. The progress bar shows you the overall completion of the Program update.
  3. When the update is complete you are asked to restart your PC. Click Restart now to reboot immediately.
  4. When the PC restarts an information screen appears about the new version. Close this screen to complete the upgrade process.

Avast Pro Antivirus is then updated to the latest version. Your protection is valid for the remaining period of your subscription.
