How to restore your PIN for Avast Anti-Theft

For security reasons Anti-Theft does not send your Avast PIN to our servers and there is no master key.

There are two methods to change the Avast PIN for Anti-Theft:

  • Preferred method allows you to change your PIN directly from the Anti-Theft app with your Google Account credentials.
  • Alternative method allows you to change your PIN via your Avast Account.

Change your PIN via Google Account:

  1. Tap Reset PIN when you are prompted to type your current PIN.
  2. You are redirected to the Google Account login page. Click Next to confirm your e-mail address.
  3. Type your password for Google Account, and tap Sign in.
  4. Tap Allow when Anti-Theft asks for online access.
  5. Type your new PIN and retype it to confirm changes.
  6. Type your PIN again to open the app.

Change your PIN via Avast Account:

  1. Log in to your Avast Account and select your device.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Go to the Anti-Theft tab.
  4. Type your new PIN twice, and confirm changes by clicking Save.

A confirmation message appears. Your new PIN is configured.
