If you select Google Drive in the Cloud storage section, the photo and recorded audio file are sent to your Google Drive. By default these files are sent only to your Avast Account. Please note that the option to send files to Google Drive can also be enabled in Avast Account. However, this option only applies to older versions of Anti-Theft which do not include the Cloud storage feature within the app. To set up the connection to Google Drive in Anti-Theft 4, go to Settings → Cloud storage.

What is Stealth mode?
While in Stealth mode, Anti-Theft is hidden from the Android App Launcher and cannot be found or launched in the same way as other apps. This feature is useful if your device is lost or stolen. If the app cannot be detected by a potential thief, there is a much greater chance that the device will remain available for you to trace or control remotely. There are two ways to open the app while Stealth mode is enabled:
Open the app by dialing your Avast PIN and "calling" it as you would a phone number. This method works only for devices with SIM cards.
Open another Avast app installed on your device and go to the More by Avast section. Then tap the Anti-Theft icon to open it. This method is currently available in Avast Mobile Security, Battery Saver, Cleanup, and Wi-Fi Finder.
Stealth mode can be enabled manually in Settings → Stealth mode.
What is PIN security?
PIN security allows you to use additional protection by marking your device as lost if your Avast PIN is inserted three times incorrectly. PIN security can be enabled manually in Settings → PIN security.
What is SIM security?
If you activate SIM security, the device locks automatically when it detects a SIM card change. This is especially useful if a potential thief attempts to insert another SIM card into your device. SIM security can be enabled manually in Settings → SIM security.
What is the Show message on lock screen section?
In this section you can prepare a message (for example, a warning or contact data) to appear on the lock screen if the device is lost or stolen. Go to Settings → Show message on lock screen.
What is the Connection to Avast Account section?
During the activation process, Anti-Theft asks you to log in to your Avast Account to set up Web Control which allows you to control your device via the Avast Account website. If you skipped this option during the configuration process or want to change the account, go to Settings → Connection to Avast Account and log in.
What is Friend's number?
Friend's number is a feature that helps locate your lost or stolen device. When you configure Friend's number and later send the
LOCATE command, Anti-Theft sends the updated location data to your Avast Account and to the phone number you entered during configuration.
What is the Change PIN section?
Here you can change the PIN code that you set during the activation process. To change it you need your current PIN. Go to Settings → Change PIN.
What is the SMS Remote Control feature?
This feature contains the SMS commands that allow you to remotely control your device. You can send the command directly from your phone, you just need to know a target phone number and its associated PIN. Go to Settings → SMS Remote Control.
What is Command history?
In this section, you can review the history of commands sent from the device. Go to Settings → Command history.
What is the In case of theft section?
In this section you can define the behavior of the app in case of theft. You can specify if you want to:
- Lock device - the device locks.
- Sound siren - siren activates automatically.
- Restrict device settings change - nobody can access the device's Settings without a valid PIN.
These settings are applied only if you mark your device as lost. You can mark your device as lost via SMS commands or your Avast Account. All options are enabled by default to provide maximum protection in case of loss or theft. If you want to disable any of the settings, go to Settings → In case of theft.

What does Anti-Theft do if the SIM card is changed?
If the PIN security feature is enabled in Anti-Theft, the device locks automatically when the new SIM card is inserted. You can unlock your device and mark the SIM card as safe by typing your Avast PIN code. This additional protection layer prevents possible thieves from accessing your device. PIN security is disabled by default. It may be enabled in Settings → PIN security.
Why does Avast Anti-Theft need so many permissions?
Data and programming interfaces in Android are protected by permissions. Avast needs permission to implement the functionality of Avast's tools and features. The permissions required by Anti-Theft are the minimum necessary to implement the full functionality of the app. If Avast removed these permissions, the app could not work as it does. Avast takes your privacy very seriously. We do NOT use the permissions to transmit private data to our servers or to cause unwanted costs to your phone bill. Avast does NOT give any of your data to third parties.
What happened to root support?
We have discontinued root support in the latest release of Anti-Theft. We have decided to focus on the app's most commonly used features and to cancel others for smoother, increased functionality and ease of use.
Can I rename Anti-Theft or make it invisible to thieves in another way?
The App Disguiser feature is no longer available in Anti-Theft. There is no possibility to change the app name. However, the app can be hidden from the Android App Launcher with the Stealth Mode feature. The Stealth mode feature can be enabled manually in Settings → Stealth mode.
Does the new version of Anti-Theft include the Theftie feature?
Yes, Anti-Theft automatically takes a photo of the possible thief when you mark your device as lost. Additionally, the app records a 1-minute audio file to help you identify the intruder. You can review the photo and audio file in your Avast Account. Open the Avast Account website, log in to your account and go to Info → Notifications. If you previously connected your account with Google Drive, the files will also be sent there.
What is the Avast PIN used for in Anti-Theft?
The Avast PIN is used to authorize access to the Anti-Theft user interface. Because Anti-Theft is invisible in Stealth mode, it cannot be accessed in the same way as other apps. Instead, open the user interface by calling the Avast PIN as if it were a phone number. The entry is immediately removed from the call log so that your Avast PIN cannot be discovered. The call is not charged to you.
If you are not able to dial, or if your device does not offer a dialing option, you can access Anti-Theft via your Avast Account if your device is connected to the account.
Can I restore a forgotten Avast PIN?
For security reasons Anti-Theft does not send your Avast PIN to our servers, and there is no master key. However, there are two possible ways to restore a PIN - via Google Account and Avast Account.
Why can my Avast PIN only consist of digits?
Because Avast Anti-Theft is invisible in Stealth mode, it cannot be accessed the same way as other applications. Instead, open the user interface by calling the Avast PIN as if it were a phone number. Since your phone dialer only accepts numbers, your Avast PIN must also use only numbers.
How do I change the language in Anti-Theft?
There is no option to change the language directly in Anti-Theft settings. The default language of the app is based on the system language. To change the system language, go to Android Settings and select your preferred language in the Language and keyboard/input tab.
